WELCOME TO COUNTRY

As I live and work on this sacred land, I would like to acknowledge and pay my respects to the traditional custodians of this region, the Arakwal and Bundjalung people.

For generations, these Indigenous communities have nurtured and cared for this land and maintain a profound connection to its wisdom.

The Arakwal people, whose traditional lands encompass the Byron Bay area, where I have lived for 20 years, and the Bundjalung people, whose ancestral homelands extend across the Northern Rivers region, hold an irreplaceable knowledge of the local environment and its cultural heritage and their ongoing contributions continue to enrich this region.

I’d like to pay tribute to the elders past, present, and emerging, whose guidance and teachings preserve the vibrant cultural tapestry of this region.

May we enjoy this land with humility, gratitude, and a commitment to walking together in unity, learning from their wisdom and sharing in the responsibility of caring for Country.
