Real, imperfect moments are the perfect moments to me, I don’t believe subjects need to be contrived and posed in order to make wonderful images. The opposite is true in fact. Memories are only real if you are being yourself. I love embracing the everyday ways of a young family and children’s ephemeral emotions, or the momentary highlights of a wedding day, the ‘everyday’ things some may miss. To me, that is where the gold lies.
I specialise in natural children’s portraiture and wedding photography, and prefer to shoot black and white images – they are classic, they hold an eternal quality that will never age on your wall. My portfolio extends to photojournalism, fashion, private and commercial events, sculpture, and our best animal friends.
My style is popular with people who seek a relaxed and interactive experience, those who prefer candid to contrived and intimate over formal. I believe a balance of professionalism and affability is imperative, particularly in becoming an integral part of something as special as a wedding ceremony. Technical ability alone is not enough.
As a sole parent, I’ve spent the last five years focusing all of my energy on my divine little people. Now I’m happy to be getting back to doing what I enjoy in a professional capacity too. I have over fourteen years experience in professional photography, although my relationship with the camera started a long while before I called it work. I love what I do, both as a mother and image maker, and take great pride in doing it well. You will find client testimonials posted among the photos in each gallery.
